This recognition is awarded to the projects that are most committed to the Galicia Health Cluster Community.

On Wednesday 15 October, the AI-VIDDA project received the #RIES25 CSG Community Award at the RIES Forum awards ceremony. The project, in which we participate alongside five other Galician companies through a consortium, seeks to develop technological and biotechnological solutions to improve the quality of life of older people. This award recognises the projects most committed to the Galicia Health Cluster Community.

AI VIDDA is a joint applied research initiative whose main objective is to develop technological and biotechnological solutions that improve the quality of life of older people, focusing particularly on prolonging autonomy and healthy life expectancy. The project is part of Galicia's Smart Specialisation Missions, is funded by the Regional Government of Galicia and European funds through the Feder Galicia 2021–27 operational programme, and is promoted by six companies: DomusVi (the project leader), Balidea, ADOC, BiG Formación, Inova and Hifas da Terra. Each company contributes its expertise in areas such as social care, healthcare, artificial intelligence, nutrition, device manufacturing, data analysis and digital transformation.

In the words of María del Carmen López Pérez, Head of Research, Development and Innovation at Balidea, we are responsible for 'developing multilingual conversational agents specialised in social and healthcare contexts, with applications aimed at assessing quality of life, providing companionship and monitoring elderly people, and predicting care needs based on voice interaction analysis'.

Winning this award at the prestigious RIES forum demonstrates that we are heading in the right direction and motivates us to continue developing this exciting project, which aims to create an economic and social ecosystem that addresses the genuine requirements of the ageing population.
