The fourth edition of  Smart City Expo World Congress is held from the 18^th to the 20^th of November 2014 in Barcelona. SmartCoruña, which is the smart city project that is being carried out in A Coruña and which BALIDEA collaborates on, will be present in the Congress.
 

The Smart City World Congress is the world's most important event which gathers municipal representatives, institutions, academic and thought leaders, research centres and companies together in the same place. It aims at presenting all kind of applied technologies to build a more sustainable and efficient urban environment.

In this Congress, BALIDEA participates as the event's exhibitor and it will be part of the SmartCoruña display stand, together with the rest of the member companies of this large-scale project. We will be in Recinto Ferial Gran Vía, Pabellón 2, Nivel 0, Calle B, Stand 219.

During the Smart City Expo & World Congress 2014, BALIDEA will present its bet on developments fostering smart cities in general and our Multichannel Events Project in particular. This project includes all information on the events proposal (cultural, sport, scientific…) that is held in the city.

The event brings many companies in the industry, opinion leaders and the different cities where Smart projects are being carried out together. It is a meeting congress gathering the different agents in order to develop the ideas and projects characterizing smart cities.

BALIDEA collaborates on the development of a modular robotic system to assist patients who are under upper limbs neural rehabilitation therapy. With this project, doctors can observe the patient's progression, as well as promote new rehabilitation strategies while carrying out a system to manage hospital data.

BALIDEA is in charge of developing both a virtual environment which simulates neural rehabilitation exercises and a system to manage hospital data. 

• This system will optimize communications among professionals of the public health. Therefore, it will allow the interactive coordination of their tasks.

The ‘Schools in the Cloud Network' is a project on educational innovation, from which we can learn more information about it thanks to this video that is starred by its pupils and the teachers taking part in the project. They themselves are telling us their impressions about this educational methodology effectiveness, which aims at fostering collaboration among the rural centres that are spread all over the Galician territory.

The PAGEFIT project is an initiative on pioneering technology of international scope that proposes the development of a multiplatform tool allowing the management of intellectual capital and it optimizes job search, which is the first problem for the 53,3% of Spanish people according to the CIS survey from last April 2013.

The writer Xosé Neira Vilas will be reminded his childhood in a rural school by the children of schools using the Schools in the Cloud Network.
 

The project Networked Schools in the cloud, based on cloud computing solutions, virtualization and open source software for clusters of  rural schools, and in which Balidea participates in collaboration with the Supercomputing Center of Galicia (CESGA) and the Department of Culture, Education and Universities, will be presented this week at the technical sessions of the RedIRIS in Bilbao, at the 18th International Conference on Technology Support for training and learning Educa Berlin, and in the Fair of Cultural Industries of Galicia (Culturgal) in Pontevedra.

Last Friday, the Supercomputing Center of Galicia (CESGA) and Balidea signed an agreement for the implementation of an ambitious educational innovation project, which aims to provide network infrastructure and services based on cloud computing in rural schools.

"Network of schools in the cloud" provides a model for infrastructure and services, as well as a methodology, all based on cloud computing, for teaching and collaboration between schools, creating a network in which educational experiences, materials and learning methods can be shared.
