Balidea has recently become an approved supplier of technological solutions and projects to the Danish public sector. It has therefore been added to the list of companies that meet the requirements stipulated by SKI, the intermediary body for public contract procurements in Denmark.

This approval is an excellent achievement and an interesting opportunity for Balidea in a country in which every year, the public sector spends approximately 40 billion euros on assets and services supplied by private companies.

The company has already gained the confidence of institutions in Denmark such as the Danish Energy Agency and Copenhagen City Council. Its inclusion in the SKI catalogue will serve to consolidate its image with current clients and opens up the possibility of participating in more public tenders.

Over 6 years in Denmark

Balidea arrived in Denmark in 2012 and since then has carried out over thirty projects in the country, many of which were in collaboration with companies such as Kruso, ScanEnergi or Ennova.

In the public sector, it has attained a high level of specialisation in technological solutions for energy efficiency together with The Danish Energy Agency, one of its main clients. At the end of 2018, it signed a four-year contract with Copenhagen City Council. This contract pertains to their web ecosystem, which comprises over 300 websites offering services to its employees and citizens.

Centralised public procurement

Through SKI, national, regional and local public procurement needs are centralised in order to optimise public tender processes. To this end, this body focuses on standardising processes for acquiring specific products and services, among which both hardware and software technologies are a high priority.

SKI was set up in 1994 as a publicly-owned non-profit organisation. Its aim is to ensure European directives for public procurement processes are followed, to guarantee tenders are received in equal conditions, and for procedures to be open and transparent. It also enables each tender to be awarded to the most competitive supplier, both in terms of quality and cost.
